Flashing outdoor camera

Blink 1080p wireless outdoor security camera installed on an exterior wall.

You can run the Blink Outdoor Camera for up to two years on a set of two AA batteries, meaning this weatherproof 1080p wireless camera is easy to set up anywhere you want, as long as it’s within range of your Wi-Fi network. Key features include two-way audio, infrared night vision and motion detection within an adjustable field of view. If you don’t want the camera to start recording every time a car passes by, for example, use your phone’s configuration software to block that part of the field of view. Like the Blink Wireless Indoor Camera, the outdoor version requires connection with a Blink Sync Module.

Flashing interior camera

Blink 1080 Wireless Indoor Security Camera mounted on an interior wall.

The Blink Indoor Camera is also a snap to mount on a shelf, wall, or any indoor location. The indoor camera has a two-year battery life, night vision, and two-way audio. You can use this camera as a baby cam, homework monitor camera (if you’re really sneaky), or as part of a conventional home security setup. You can configure all three Blink camera models to alert you on a smartphone when they start recording when they detect motion. You can view live video and store recorded clips on a memory card on the sync module.

Flashing mini camera

Blink wired 1080p mini indoor security camera sitting on a granite counter.

The Blink mini camera is the cheapest model. It has a USB power cable instead of battery operation, so you never have to remember to replace batteries. If you already have a Blink Sync Module and other Blink cameras, you can add Blink Mini Cameras to the system, but a Sync Module is not required — without an associated Sync Module, there is no local storage with the Blink Mini Camera. For the easiest setup, just connect the Blink Mini Camera to your Wi-Fi network, then connect to it with the Blink Home smartphone app. Like the Blink Wireless models, the Blink Mini Camera supports two-way talk, motion detection, and night vision.

How to Choose a Blink Security Camera

If you’ve decided to set up your home with a range of Blink security cameras, you have a few simple choices to make. Rather than start thinking about which cameras to buy and how many, think about the areas inside and outside your home that you want to protect or monitor. The best way to save the most with Blink camera deals is to know how to allocate cameras to different uses.

One of the best features of Blink security cameras is that they all work together. Even the Blink Mini indoor camera, which is the only model that can only work with a Wi-Fi connection and a smartphone app, can be part of a system that also incorporates a Blink synchronization module to manage multiple cameras and for local storage of video clips. .

If you only want one or two Blink cameras for indoor locations within reach of power outlets, the Blink Indoor Mini Camera is a great choice. You can name each camera separately and monitor them through the smartphone app. If you want to install a Blink camera indoors, but there is no power outlet within reasonable range, the Blink Indoor Camera is your best bet. The indoor camera costs a little less than the outdoor model. Of course, if you want to install one or more Blink cameras outdoors, you will need to choose the Blink Outdoor Camera. If money is no object, purchasing all Blink outdoor cameras for indoor and outdoor use gives you the most flexibility if you later decide to change camera locations. The Blink Outdoor Camera is the most expensive in the range, but still a bargain at list price compared to many other brands.

You’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for Blink camera sales, because usually when they go on sale, all three models and all configurations go on sale at the same time. You can purchase bundled sets of Blink Indoor Cameras and Blink Outdoor Cameras with an included sync module as a single-camera system in two-, three-, and five-camera sets. Bundles only include indoor cameras or outdoor cameras, not a mix. As always, when looking for Blink camera sales, the best deal is one that includes the items you need in the right amount and that fits your budget.

vivo wastes no time when it comes to new model releases. Just a few days ago, the company announced the Y33T as a replacement for the Y33s and a basically identical device to the Y21T, unveiled earlier. All of these phones spit images of each other. Now we have another very similar device to add to the list – the vivo Y21e.

Its 164.26 x 76.08 x 8.00mm, 182-gram all-plastic body looks very familiar, from the camera island, to the peculiar shape of the power/fingerprint reader button on the side of the device and the teardrop selfie notch. It can be purchased in Midnight Blue or Diamond Glow colors.

In terms of specs, the Y21e borrows most things from its close siblings, including a Snapdragon 680 chipset. It’s paired with 3GB of RAM (plus 500MB of extended RAM) and 64GB of expandable storage. Its LCD screen is a bit smaller at 6.51-inches and with HD+ resolution, which is a notable distinction compared to its sibling.

For cameras, you get a 13MP, f/2.2 primary camera and an additional 2MP, f/2.4 snapper. On the front – an 8MP, f/1.8 selfie stick. The Y21e packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support through the Type-C port. Other specs include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, OTG support, and two nano SIM cards with dual standby. You also apparently get an accelerometer, light sensor, proximity sensor and compass, with just a virtual gyroscope. The Y21e boots vivo’s latest Funtouch OS 12, although we can’t say for sure whether it’s Android 12 or Android 11.

The Y21e will be priced at INR 12,990 ($175) in the Indian market.

A Jewish BBC broadcaster has resigned after media coverage of an anti-Semitic attack falsely accused victims of insulting Muslims.

Rabbi YY Rubinstein, a contributor to BBC programs including Good Morning Sunday and Thought For The Day, resigned via letter.

He posted it on Facebook, addressing a staff member known only as Gabby.

The letter read: “The current crisis of anti-Semitism at the Corporation and its attempts to turn the victims of the recent anti-Semitic attack on Jewish children in London into claiming that the victims were in fact the perpetrators was and is inexcusable. The obscuration, the denial that followed, was and is quite overwhelming.

“The Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles actually includes the BBC in its annual global anti-Semitism, ‘Top Ten’.

“This in no way reflects your own production company whose own record in this regard is exemplary. It also doesn’t apply to most of the people I worked with at the BBC for three decades.

It comes less than a week after it was announced that Jewish leaders would clash with BBC chief Tim Davie to demand a public apology.

The proposed action comes after an investigation revealed a “colossal error” in its report of an anti-Semitic attack on Oxford Street.

Earlier this month, a video emerged of a group of men cursing and spitting at a group of Jewish teenagers sitting inside a bus, before knocking on windows as they walked away. ‘moved away.

The incident was treated as a hate crime by the police and condemned by the Prime Minister and the Mayor of London.

Resignation letter from the rabbi in its entirety

Dear Gaby,

Hope you are doing more than well.

I’m afraid to write with bad news. I will not be able to do the BBC Radio 2 recordings that we discussed in February and March 2020.

It is a very sad moment for me as I have been a BBC broadcaster for about 30 years. I was a regular at Thought of the Day, Wake up to Wogan and countless other BBC radio and TV shows. I was the co-writer and presenter of BBC World Service’s “Sunrise Sunset”, which The Times cited as its pick of the week and which was rebroadcast twice in the same week to 300 million people. I was a regular on BBC One, Heaven and Earth Show. I have been with the Beeb for a very long time.

The current crisis of anti-Semitism at the Corporation and its attempts to turn the victims of the recent anti-Semitic attack on Jewish children in London into claiming that the victims were in fact the perpetrators was and is inexcusable. The obscuration, the denial that followed, was and is quite overwhelming.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles actually includes the BBC in its annual “Top Ten” global anti-Semitism.

This in no way reflects your own production company whose own record in this regard is exemplary. It also doesn’t apply to most of the people I worked with at the BBC for three decades.

They were some of the most courteous, kind and talented people I have ever met or worked with. The same goes for you and your colleagues.

I just don’t see how I or indeed any Jew who is proud of this name can be associated with the Corporation any more.

Wishing you only huge success, Rabbi YY

But in its original report, BBC News said “racial slurs on Muslims could be heard inside the bus,” a claim criticized by the British Jews’ Council of Deputies and the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism.

And the board has now commissioned its own independent report by forensic audio experts and a linguist who concluded there were no anti-Muslim slurs.

He discovered that the expression considered an insult was in fact a Hebrew expression, “Tikrah lemishu, ze dachuf” meaning: “Call someone, it is urgent.

Writing in the Jewish Chronicle, Council of Representatives Chairwoman Marie van der Zyl described the BBC’s “misrepresentation” as “a colossal mistake”, which “added insult to injury by blaming the victims of anti-Semitism to be themselves guilty of fanaticism “.

She continued: “What takes this from blatant failure to something much more sinister is the behavior of the BBC when confronted with its mistake. Instead of admitting it was wrong , he doubled and tripled.

Ms Van der Zyl has asked the company to apologize publicly and said the Council of Deputies will hold a meeting with chief executive Tim Davie this month which will include “a full and frank discussion of this matter”.

She said the company’s behavior “raises serious questions about the deep-rooted prejudices within the BBC towards Israelis, and indeed towards Jews in general.”

The BBC maintains its report on the incident and a spokesperson said: “Anti-Semitism is heinous. We strive to fairly serve the Jewish community and all communities across our country.

“Our story was a factual report that focused overwhelmingly on the people the police want to identify; those who directed abuses against the bus.

“There was a brief reference to an insult, captured in a video recording, which appeared to come from the bus. We consulted with a number of Hebrew speakers to determine that the insult was spoken in English.

“The brief reference to this has been included so that the fullest account of the incident can be reported.”

It came as the BBC was ranked third – behind Iran and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas – in a list of “global anti-Semitism” compiled by the Simon Wiesenthal Center in the United States.

Rabbi Marvin Hier, head of the center, said the BBC was “guilty of several cases of anti-Semitism over the past year”.

He told the Mail on Sunday: “People might assume that we will put neo-Nazi groups on our list, but the BBC is there because when a globally recognized organization allows anti-Semitism to infiltrate its reporting, it makes it all the more insidious and dangerous.

“People all over the world trust the BBC and rely on it for truthful reporting on world events.”

Rabbi Yesterday said the decision to include the BBC on the annual list came “after months of intense debate and discussion.”

He pointed to the broadcaster’s report of the attack on a bus carrying Jewish teenagers by a group of men chanting anti-Israel slogans.

NEAR two years of pandemic and after months of desktop adjustments, a hybrid setup is seen as the default arrangement for the Asia-Pacific workforce and workspaces this year and beyond. of the.

“Hybrid work is now the norm. In fact, it is reported that the hybrid is the preferred working arrangement in Southeast Asia, next to anywhere work and full-time remote work, ”said Samir Sayed, Managing Director of Plantronics, Inc. for ASEAN and South Korea, in an emailed statement. .

A hybrid configuration provides employees with mixed remote and office schedules. In the Philippines, for example, some companies require their employees to come to the office one or a few days a week and work from home on certain days.

Plantronics, a global communications company better known as Poly, is involved in video and audio engineering. He expects corporate offices to turn into hubs of collaboration.

Mr Sayed said the adoption of hybrid work will impact business leaders’ approach to workplace design and long-term investment decisions. It will become the default arrangement as various markets in the Asia-Pacific region begin to ease restrictions related to the pandemic.

Poly said business leaders “will also be looking to make returning to the office something that employees look forward to. Offices will become collaboration hubs, serving as a place for teams to come together to brainstorm in small groups, organize meetings with clients, celebrate milestones and work on common projects. They will also serve as a central hub for community socialization that will help provide a culture that cannot be replicated through remote working. “

He added that the collaborating center will also complete the greater adoption of asynchronous working practices, which have been widely practiced due to the pandemic.

Industries should also continue to decentralize work practices and processes, enabling efficient business continuity for a workforce that can work largely from home.

“To truly succeed in the hybrid age, business leaders will need to design workplace strategies and investments that will allow workers to have a more equitable work experience, no matter where they are from. they work for optimal collaboration and productivity, ”Poly Asia-Pacific Senior said in a press release, Vice-President Pierre-Jean Châlon. – Marielle C.
