“Our A Voice In Violet Audio Drama Thriller podcast was an incredible creative experience and an incredible education for me in the new world of storytelling podcasts in Hollywood. Like many creatives, I was navigating the virtual and audio space during the pandemic. I was blessed with the gifted writer and director, Curt Wiser, who cast me on his virtual web series, Leave Quietly, in the summer of 2021. I greatly appreciated Curt’s writing talents and I was really impressed with his expertise in sound effects. I had been in talks with my talent managers at Bohemia Group to develop a full audio drama series and have Philly Chick Pictures and I’m producing a project, while still in quarantine, to keep myself creatively inspired. Curt had pitched me some fantastic script ideas, I fell in love with A Voice In Violet, and we began our production development process in the fall of 2021. We’ve spent a lot of time fleshing out this series and putting together the necessary components. We were lucky to have casting director Alison Buck help us cast our talented actors (whom I had dreamed of) Bronson Pinchot, Nikki Blonsky and Nelson Lee (thanks Kat Seigworth!), and then I had to have my talented friends and associates, Eric Etebari and Wilson Jermaine Heredia, on board as their roles were written for them, along with songs by my darling diva Fawn, and a score of the composer’s wild musical spirit Michael Trap! We’ve truly assembled a dream cast, while maintaining our commitment to developing and casting diverse and inclusive characters. As an actress, I loved playing Violet so much. Curt wrote this role perfectly for me and I had so much fun finding the layers of this character throughout the audio series. I only hope fans and listeners of the narrative audio podcast are entertained by A Voice In Violet. – Brooke Lewis Bellas
“It was a thrill to create in the audio space and with our talented cast who really lifted the words off the page. Many thanks to Brooke Lewis Bellas for bringing this project together. – Curt Wiser
A voice in purple is in post-production and will hit both the festival and narrative audio drama podcast markets in 2023.
