SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A San Francisco audio store owner was picking up the pieces after thieves drove a van through the front door and stole thousands of dollars in equipment early Sunday morning.

Harmony Audio & Video owner Frank Mari said the crash brought his security gate to its knees before thieves stole expensive stereo systems right out of the showroom.

“A pair of these costs $ 15,000. I feel like I’ve been – what’s the word for that – somehow raped, ”Mari said.

Mari estimated that the thieves stole between $ 25,000 and $ 40,000 in equipment.

Neighboring resident Nancy Tarantino was awakened when she heard the truck crash into the store.

“I heard a huge boom, which we both thought was an earthquake at first,” Tarantino said.

Despite the damage and loss, Mari says he will have the final say after the thieves fail to take the second half of an expensive pair of matching coins.
