Twitter Spaces is testing a new audio clips tool for iOS
Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow hosts to mute audio from recorded Spaces and share them.
Spaces announced the feature Friday
Have you ever wished you could capture a moment from a space? great because we are testing clipping!
select hosts on iOS can now capture 30 seconds of audio from Saved Spaces for sharing, anyone on iOS can view and listen to clips on the timeline – coming soon to Android and web)
Twitter says the new feature will allow select Spaces hosts to capture 30 seconds of audio from a recorded Space, sharing it on the timeline for everyone to listen to. The feature is also coming to Android and the web “very soon”, probably for testing as well.
The feature works through a clips button at the bottom of the Spaces interface. Hitting create clip will generate a clip that can be shared on the timeline, complete with a caption and a button that says “Listen Live.” The idea seems to be that you can share clips in real time while your space is live to entice more listeners to join.
Twitter, one of the best social media iPhone apps, continues to invest in its spaces. In January, it confirmed that it would begin offering exclusive access to Spaces through its Super Follows feature, which allows users to pay for special access to content from certain accounts.
